I am always for interiors that preserve and enhance the unique character of a space. So when I visited Le Mill the new "concept" store for home decor, clothing, jewelry in Mumbai whom people have been raving about, I was pleasantly delighted to see how this store housed in an old mill in the dockyards of Wadi Bandar have stylishly preserved and enhanced the Mills original industrial character.
Le Mill is "The brainchild of for Mumbai-based women - Cecilia Morelli Parikh, Julie Leymarie, Aurelie de Limelette and celeb stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania - Le Mill is spread across 15,000 sqft of what was formerly a rice mill".
This "industrial chic" store has some interesting collection of homeware, some nice shabby chic and modern furniture (I absolutely fell head over heels for a long coffee table made with all joinery), some other home decor accessories, some indian and western clothing and kids wear!! What I absolutely loved is that they have placed a shipping container bang in the middle of the store which has a huge logo painted on it & houses their jewelry collection which boasts the likes of Jade Jagger and Mawi. They also have these intermittent quirky design elements like black paper crows (I guess as an ode to the ever increasing population of the crows in Bombay!!) and the flamingo feet like legs in brass for jewelry cases.
